SOLETAIR and VTT present at the German Annual Catalysis Meeting in Weimar.
Jahrestreffen Deutscher Katalytiker is regarded as the most important meeting in Germany for catalysis experts from universities, research institutes and industry. Since 1999 this event has been organized in the historic city of Weimar in the state of Thuringia in Germany. This year’s conference marked a special 50. year anniversary for the event that has long given the opportunity for senior experts and young scientists to exchange ideas and results in all areas of catalysis.
This year’s conference was also the first time VTT participated in the event. Francisco Vidal Vazquez presented a poster with the Mobile Synthesis Unit and the SOLETAIR project, which received plenty of interest from both industrial and academic participants. Furthermore, VTT had an exhibitor booth that highlighted VTT’s role as a leading research company in the bioeconomy field and provider of state-of-the-art pilot plants and research infrastructure.
The conference attracted over 600 participants, and the program included over 40 oral presentations and over 150 poster in topics ranging from both homogeneous to heterogeneous catalysis, electrochemistry and biocatalysis. The traditional Alwin Mittasch prize, that is awarded every three years for outstanding work in fundamental catalysis that has exemplary application in industry, was this year shared equally between Prof. Xinhe Bao from Dalian Institute and Prof. David Cole-Hamilton from University of St. Andrews.
We feel that the Jahrestreffen Deutscher Katalytiker conference was a great event to connect with the leading academics and companies in the field of catalysis in Europe and look forward to participating also next year in Weimar.
